Our name, Wai-Vie, streams from our seagoing roots...
It was in playing among the waves, or “waiviando” in Viequense, that the dream for our venture was born.
Wai-Vie is a distinctly Viequense company, born out of a need for reinvention. Faced with joblessness after Hurricane Maria damaged Vieques Island in September of 2017, we, Raimundo J. Román and Regalado Miro, felt responsible to recreate ourselves. Bringing skills from our previous experience in the fishing and tourism industry, our vision is to guide visitors and residents alike to come to know Vieques’s beautiful natural resources.
We offer water activities for those looking to venture around our beautiful island and explore the secluded beaches, coves, reefs, and amazing bioluminescent bay (Mosquito Bay), where microorganisms give the water a blue-green glow.
